Open the Book
Healing was right at the heart of the ministry Jesus shared. Healing was right at the heart of the ministry shared by his first followers. Healing has continued to be right at the heart of the life of the church ever since. But what is ‘healing’?  What was the ‘healing’ Jesus came to share? What is the ‘healing’ he wants us to share today? These are some of the questions we have been asking as we have Opened the Book through the Autumn.
Focusing on passages from Luke’s gospel we have asked ‘Healing - What’s in a Word?’ And then moved on to look at ‘Healing Hurting People’ and ‘Healing a Hurting World’. We now move on to see that the ministry of healing is something Jesus shared with his first followers ... and shares with us today. Our prayer focus for the month of December is on Lebanon
We are asked to pray for The Union of Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East, based in Beirut, who provide support to schools including the opportunity for teachers to meet and train together during this difficult time in Lebanon; for Birds’ Nest Home in Byblos which provides a home for 50 children from deprived families, for them and their families over Christmas; and for CAHL (the Centres for Armenian Handicapped, Lebanon) in Beirut providing education for 50 children with special needs.
