“For many years, Christians all over the UK have been doing fantastic work in their communities, actively loving and serving those around them.
“Hope 08 is about harnessing this activity through quality resources and encouragement, to motivate and enable every church, denomination and person to do more to reach people in the place where they live, during 2008.”
Highbury is no exception.
Neither are St Luke’s and St Michael’s.
We are going to join up with our friends from St Luke’s and St Michael’s under the banner of Hope 08 to give a higher profile to the work we do in
serving the community on this side of town, and to develop that work further.
The Christian New Year starts on the first Sunday of Advent.  It’s not inappropriate to think of Hope 08 starting at Christmas.
Why not make an extra effort to invite someone to come to one of our special Christmas services so that we can make a start on sharing that message of hope?
Come to the Beechwood Arcade on Thursday 20th December from 7-00 to 8-00pm and join with churches from all over Cheltenham, and the Salvation Army.  That’s just one way of getting the real meaning of Christmas with its message of hope this year!
