Following two successful weekends away at Brunel Manor, it has been suggested we might make this an annual event and part of the church's calendar.
Unfortunately the only dates we could have for 2008 were from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th November. We realise this is not ideal and will not suit everyone (including the organiser!) but we will hold on to it and are on the list for an earlier cancellation.
I am sure from the feedback I have had that this weekend is enjoyed by all who attend, therefore we have no plans to change the format too much, but we would welcome ideas for a theme if anyone has any thoughts. Please speak to me or any of the Deacons, and we can share them at one of our meetings.
Hope to see you all there next year! We welcomed new single people, couples and families this year, and everyone had a lovely time.
Please have a word if I can help in any way.

We have now sent a total of 118 knitted hats to keep the sailors warm at sea - and have more ready to send! The following letter has recently been received from Rev David Potterton, Principal Chaplain ….

“Thank you to the members and friends of Highbury Congregational Church for the generous donation of beautifully knitted woollen hats. Already seafarers have been given them, and if you had witnessed the joy in their faces when they receive them, knowing that someone was thinking about them, you would have been thrilled.

Please be assured that your efforts have been worthwhile and are deeply appreciated.”
