Jean’s jottings & Roger’s reflections
It's that special time of year again!  Advent - and preparing for celebrating Christmas and the coming of Christ into our midst.  There are plenty of opportunities to keep that fact at the centre of our busy lives, and to share with our friends and family.  Have a look at the calendar page!  Please join in any of the services, or times of carol singing whenever you can.

One of the highlights from last December will be repeated again this year.  On Wednesday 19th at 6.30pm we shall share in a Christingle service, during which we will welcome the Peacelight from Bethlehem.  It is the International Scout Group that organises the transporting of the Peacelight, and our Scouts and Guides will be taking part.  You are all welcome too!

On Christmas Day our service of celebration is at 10.30am for about 45 minutes, and is for all the family.  Our offering that day will go to the Lilian Elizabeth Fund, whose objective is to bring better health care to the villagers of Sika in The Gambia.  This charity has been chosen after the founder, Jennifer Taylor, made a visit to Hy-Way, and explained then that her sister had spent time in The
Gambia, and after her unfortunate and premature death, Jennifer was inspired to build a medical centre in her memory.

Within this magazine you will see reference to many ways we can support financially needy people in the world.  We also need to remember the work of the various charities we are supporting in our prayers too.

Our prayer is for a peaceful and meaningful Christmas to you all!

We dream of a church that will join with God’s passion:
May earth be restored and its people at peace!
We trust as we journey without all the answers
That God’s love will guide us and hope shall not cease.
