big thank you to those stepping down after several years service. We would welcome any new blood to join these infrequent, informal meetings (perhaps some parents of children at church …)

Please continue to pray for us and if you have any questions please come and speak to me.

Church Music
Our common purpose is the provision of a musical lead for the congregation in the vital activity of worshipping God, and between us we contribute a variety of musical styles as we carry out this service.
The weekly rota of accompanists, co-ordinated by Dick Adams, has worked well and ensures that at least one of us turns up at the right time! The team of musicians currently consists of: the organists (Frank Guppy, Alan Berry, Ernest Bratt and Ian James, with occasional help from Paul Manning; and we are looking forward to welcoming Richard Sharpe back in 2009); the pianist (Mary Clifford); Hy-Spirit (Elaine and Martin Schönbeck, Bob Seymour, Mary Buchanan, Adrian Blazey and sometimes his Dad too, and occasionally Ian Wallington).
The Choir, as well as leading the singing on Sunday evenings, has led a number of special occasions: Palm Sunday evening at Salem Baptist Church; taking the service at Moreton-in-Marsh Congregational Church on Congregational Sunday; an evening service at Highbury in June; an evening service at St Mary’s Congregational Church, Gloucester in October; and the
service of lessons and carols in Advent at Highbury, including the story of “The Three Wise Women”. Thanks to Dick and Diana Adams particularly for the hard work in planning and organising these services. The Choir has greatly appreciated being augmented on special occasions by voices from the congregation; and it has been a particular delight to welcome  a new member, David Butcher, in the bass section regularly.
Newcomers to any or all of the groups are always welcome. Please have a word with Dick (organists / pianists), Mary C (Choir) or Mary B (Hy-Spirit).

Church Flowers
It has been a year in which we have had a great deal of pleasure decorating the church with flowers.
Each week one of our talented team arranges flowers for our Sunday services. The flowers are later distributed to members and friends to whom a token of love from us all seems to be appropriate, for a variety of reasons.
We purchase the flowers using a flower fund to which donations are made. These donations may be in memory of a loved one, in celebration of a special event or sometimes just for a love of flowers and appreciation of our church.
The Festivals of Easter, Harvest and Christmas called for special efforts from the team, and they did not let us down. We really enjoyed decorating the church for the lovely weddings of
