Highbury Home            -  15  -              Reports 2008
Principal of SEUT in El Escorial.  He has been in conversation with David Roberts about the possibility of our putting together a working party to do some work on the garden in El Escorial.
It was great to hear that at long last Stefan and Birgit, Marit, Simeon and Jakob had been given the go ahead to move to the theological seminary in Londrinia. They are very much in our thoughts and prayers as they set about the task of learning Portuguese, get involved in local church life and as Stefan prepares to teach.
While these reports are being put together Sue Cole has been visiting the CHIKS projects in Kerala state in India.
In 2009 we look forward to becoming more involved in the Onè Respé  project that the Congregational Federation is supporting through Christian Aid in the Dominican Republic.

Boxes for World Mission
Our thanks to all those who have contributed to mission through the Mission Fund Boxes. The total raised was £435.49 which was slightly down on last year.
If you would lie to join us by having a box in your home, we would be happy to hear from you.

Birthday Scheme

‘Thank you’ to all who contributed to the Birthday Scheme during 2008. Donations received totaled £550.00 of which £480.00 was Gift Aided and will, therefore, bring in about £105.60 more. The grand total of £655.60 is a record amount – ‘thank you’ again. Sadly, we have lost two contributors this year, and new names would be very welcome!

If you would like to know more about this Scheme, read on …. On their ‘special day’ each year participants in the Scheme receive a (usually hand-made) birthday card, with greetings and a reminder that, in return, they have promised to give a donation (of no set amount) for the work of the Council for World Mission.

There are many ways in which we can support the work of CWM, not least in
